Negatives

I was asked to write a piece to be played in the same concert as Slides by Witold Lutoslawski. This piece, Negatives, is - in the photographic sense of the word - referring directly to Slides. My idea was simply to recompose each of the "pictures" from Slides into what I thought could be a "negative" of the original music. This is done very subjectively and freely, but the general form - the "duration of each picture" - is always preserved.

Negatives can be played as a stand alone piece or in context with Slides.
